Dr. Heather Strock
After joining our office a few years ago, Dr. Strock has become an integral part of our team. “Future of Dentistry has embraced me as an associate and I’m very excited to be on a team that takes great pride in delivering excellent dentistry with exceptional customer service. Dentistry is a field that brings challenges, but it also brings us the opportunity to meet amazing people,” says Dr. Strock.
A graduate of Boston University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Strock distinguished herself in many areas. Her volunteer experiences are especially close to her heart. During her last year in dental school, she accompanied a MEDICO expedition to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. “Practicing dentistry in Honduras was a life-changing experience,” she says. “People would wait in line half the day for dental treatment, and I was grateful to be able to provide it, even under the most extreme conditions.”
Dr. Strock also gives back during her personal time. She is a charity bicycle rider whose fundraising efforts include the Pan-Mass Challenge. Future of Dentistry’s involvement in the community made the practice a perfect fit for her. She is also thrilled to be part of the practice’s ongoing effort to provide dental education by partnering with local schools and organizations. Dr. Strock moved to Wakefield a few years ago and considers herself lucky to have found a home in such a warm and welcoming community. “At Future of Dentistry, I strive to build long-lasting patient relationships based on honesty and trust,” she says.
Dr. John Gilliland
Dr. Gilliland’s passion for dentistry is driven by experiences in his own life. Fifteen years ago, as a young chef and restaurant owner, his father was diagnosed with Stage IV Oral Cancer. The impact of this on his family inspired him to rethink his professional life. “I recognized the importance of thorough examination and early intervention, and I learned that I wanted to help people in a more profound way,” he explains. His father survived his diagnosis, and Dr. Gilliland later went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
In addition to General Dentistry, Dr. Gilliland is experienced in a wide range of advanced treatment and care. Surgical, cosmetic, periodontal, implant, endodontic, prosthetic and restorative dentistry are among his skills. He was an Oral Surgery Clerk at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, completed a hospital-based general practice residency with the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, and has earned the distinction of Surgical Fellow with the Misch International Implant Institute and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Gilliland believes in dental care that is focused on quality, not quantity, which makes him a great fit for Future of Dentistry. “I was looking for an excellence-driven practice, where the focus is on giving the patient the time and attention they need,” he says.
Dr. Gilliland is engaged to be married to Ela, a family medicine physician resident at Tufts University. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain-biking and kayaking.
Dr. Danny Nguyen
Dr. Danny Nguyen earned his DMD from Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is also licensed as a dental hygienist, with a degree from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Dr. Nguyen’s dental experience includes patients of all ages and backgrounds. He has treated seniors and veterans at the VA, children at a local school, and at-risk populations at a community health center. He focuses on personalized care for every patient, and was drawn to Future of Dentistry’s high standard of care.
“Our approach emphasizes every patient’s overall health as well as dental health, and it enables us to provide the best dentistry possible,” Dr. Nguyen says.
Dr. Nguyen discovered his passion for healthcare early on, as a high school student in Greater Boston. In college he had the opportunity to learn more about dentistry and quickly realized it was a perfect fit. He pursued a dental hygiene degree and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University. “Dentistry allows me to make a difference, hands-on, in my patients’ lives,” he says. Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his family and his fiancée, Sandy, who is a dental hygienist. Dr. Nguyen is an avid fan of the Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox, and also enjoys playing basketball.
Dr. Rebecca Robinson
Dr. Robinson earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she was a frequent member of the Dean’s List. She also served as a Student Teaching Assistant at Tufts’ School of Dental Medicine, which allowed her to develop her abilities as mentor.
Prior to graduating from dental school, Dr. Robinson attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she graduated with honors. At UMass she was part of BioTAP, an invite-only program for high-achieving Biology majors, which grants them access to exclusive honors courses, mentorship from academic professionals, and more.
Patients appreciate Dr. Robinson’s thorough, personalized approach to dental care. In addition to her clinical abilities, she is skilled at explaining treatment in a way that’s easy to understand, and helping patients feel at ease. “Dentistry enables me to identify a problem and then restore the patient to full health,” she says. “I love helping people get their smile back.”
In addition to the Massachusetts Dental Society and the American Dental Association, Dr. Robinson has already become involved with the Merrimack Valley and North Shore districts of the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Robinson also enjoys doing outreach and volunteer work. “Part of what drew me to Future of Dentistry is the practice’s dedication to the community,” she says. “I look forward to having more opportunities to give back.”
A Massachusetts native, Dr. Robinson has ties to both our Dracut and Wakefield communities. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, beach volleyball and spending time with her boyfriend and two cats.
