Will your Massachusetts dental insurance cover cosmetic dental procedures? Many people assume their dental insurance won’t cover any procedures obtained solely for cosmetic purposes. This is probably true for tooth bleaching or dental bonding. However, many Massachusetts dental insurance plans and supplemental plans cover orthodontia and any treatment required to repair damage from an injury. Medical insurance and worker’s compensation plans may also cover injury treatment.
Ask Your Provider, You May be Surprised
Some dental insurance plans cover replacement porcelain veneers in certain circumstances. Check with your carrier for benefit specifics if you need replacement veneers due to deterioration. We can then review treatment options such as replacement veneers or porcelain crowns. When the procedure is completed, we may be able to help you submit your dental claim form if your plan requires one.

Hello, Wakefield smiles! Do you have a missing tooth that is detracting from your otherwise nice teeth? Let Future of Dentistry fill the gap for you and help you get your brilliant smile back! A dental bridge could be the perfect answer for your missing tooth and help you chew and speak properly.
A bridge includes two or more crowns on either side of the gap created by your missing tooth. These two anchoring teeth allow a false tooth to be held in place where the missing tooth should be. The false tooth that is placed in the gap is called a pontic. Bridges can contain one or more points. A pontic can be matched to the surrounding teeth if you choose a porcelain material. If you’d like, a pontic can also be fabricated using gold or an alloy.
Doctor Casazza will work closely with you to make certain that your bridge has an exact fit. Then one of our adept hygienists will show you how to clean under and around the bridge to ensure that no tooth decay develops in the nooks and crannies.
Doctor Casazza has been successfully restoring smiles since 1991. Thousands of patients have trusted Future of Dentistry with their dental health.
Come see us at Future of Dentistry and you can bridge the gap and love your smile again!

You rarely hear the word “toothpaste” without it being preceded by “fluoride.” “Fluoride toothpaste” is ubiquitous for good reason.
Fluoride is an essential mineral that helps your teeth stay strong. It is found in some foods and water and makes toothpaste more effective at fighting cavities. Fluoride helps teeth by making them stronger and more resistant to the detrimental acid that is formed by bacteria. Dr. Gerry Casazza may recommend a fluoride treatment in addition to your dental cleaning.
The fluoride used in in-office treatments comes in either a gel or foam, and may be available in several flavors. The fluoride is applied directly to teeth through the use of a plastic dental tray that fits over your teeth. The tray is kept in your mouth for just a few minutes. Fluoride treatments are a straightforward and painless way to strengthen your teeth and maintain an attractive smile.
While many Future of Dentistry patients understand the importance of fluoride treatments in fortifying developing teeth in children, some do not realize the importance of fluoride for adults. For this reason, fluoride treatments are sometimes recommended to adults who are susceptible to enamel wear or decay.
If you wonder if you or your child is getting enough fluoride, meet with doctor Casazza about fluoride supplements. Doctor Casazza will let you know if they are required and determine the precise supplement dosage. Don’t give your child fluoride supplements without your dentist’s counsel. Too much fluoride can lead to fluorosis which discolors teeth and, ironically, can make teeth more susceptible to cavities.
A factor that influences the amount of fluoride your children are receiving is where you get your drinking water. Your children may not need fluoride supplements if they drink tap water from a fluoridated Massachusetts municipal water supply. If your family only drinks bottled water without fluoride, you may want to think about supplementation. Keep in mind that the FDA does not require bottled water companies to list the fluoride content on the bottle label and many brands sold in the Boston area do not contain fluoride.
If your child is getting adequate levels of fluoride but continues to get cavities, speak with Doctor Casazza about useful dental sealants. They have proven to be very effective at protecting the rear molars from decay.

Social interaction plays a vital role in personal and professional relationships. It’s crucial to put your best foot forward when it comes to social engagement. While many factors contribute to making a positive impression, one aspect that often gets overlooked is dental hygiene.
You can dress for success, make yourself up with the best of Maybelline, and start every conversation with a joke everyone will love. However, the rule of thumb is that it all comes down to your smile.
Your smile speaks volumes, and maintaining good oral health can significantly impact your confidence, attractiveness, and overall social success in Massachusetts.
It all starts with the importance of good dental hygiene and 5 quick tips from the Future of Dentistry for achieving a healthy and radiant smile.
1. Boosting Confidence
Confidence is a key component of successful Massachusetts social engagement. When you have a healthy smile, you naturally exude confidence, which can make you more approachable and likable. Good dental hygiene, including regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups at Future of Dentistry all go a long way to helping you prevent issues such as bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease. By taking care of your oral health, you can eliminate self-consciousness and enjoy the freedom to engage fully in social situations.
2. Enhancing Attractiveness
A smile is often considered one of the most attractive features a person can possess. Maintaining good dental hygiene helps keep your teeth clean, bright, and free from unsightly stains. Regular brushing and flossing help remove plaque and tartar, preventing discoloration and preserving the natural whiteness of your teeth. Additionally, taking care of your gums ensures that your smile appears healthy and vibrant. A beautiful smile can be a powerful tool for social engagement. A healthy smile will make you more approachable, memorable, and appealing.
3. Promoting Fresh Breath
Nothing can be more off-putting than bad breath when engaging with others. Poor dental hygiene can lead to the buildup of bacteria, resulting in halitosis (aka: bad breath). By practicing good oral care habits, including brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing regularly, and using mouthwash, you can effectively eliminate bacteria and maintain fresh breath. Having pleasant breath will boost your confidence during social interactions and prevent potential embarrassment.
4. Fostering Positive First Impressions
First impressions are crucial, and your smile is often the first thing people notice about you. A well-maintained smile demonstrates that you value personal care and hygiene, which can leave a lasting positive impression. Clean, healthy teeth contribute to an overall attractive appearance and indicate that you take pride in your self-presentation. When you engage in social interactions with a confident smile, you’re more likely to make a strong and favorable impression on others.
5. Maintaining Overall Health
Maintaining good dental hygiene not only benefits your social life but also contributes to your overall health and well-being. Poor oral health has been linked to various systemic health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory problems, and even certain cancers. By practicing regular oral care and attending regular dental check-ups at Future of Dentistry in Wakefield Massachusetts, you can prevent oral infections, tooth loss, and other dental issues that can negatively impact your overall health and social impressions.
In the pursuit of successful social engagement, good dental hygiene should not be underestimated.
Taking care of your teeth and gums through regular brushing, flossing, and dental visits not only ensures a healthy smile but also boosts confidence, enhances attractiveness, and promotes fresh breath.
A radiant smile can create a positive first impression and open doors to meaningful personal and professional relationships. Remember, your dental hygiene is an investment in yourself, leading to improved social interactions, increased self-assurance, and overall well-being.

So you want to whiten your teeth? It’s an economical way to enhance your smile, look younger, and feel more confident when you interact with people in business or social settings.
Here are 5 things Future of Dentistry recommends when it comes to teeth whitening:
Meet with your dentist for a consultation first. There are several different teeth whitening systems and a consultation will help you determine which protocol is best for you.
It is critical to know that whitening does not affect existing fillings, veneers, or crowns.
During your consultation, decide how many shades lighter you want your teeth to be at the end of the treatment. Depending on the whitening protocol chosen, your teeth can be brightened three to eight shades. An in-office procedure achieves a degree of lightening that cannot be achieved with an OTC product. During your treatment, your dentist may apply a coating to protect your gums and roots while the bleaching agent is applied.
An alternative technique is to have your dentist customize a take-home kit for you. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly. First, molds are made from your upper and lower arch. Then the lab creates trays to hold the bleach. While this protocol may take longer, it is more affordable and more convenient for many patients. Teeth whitening results from either technique can last from six months to two years.
With any of the teeth whitening systems, tooth sensitivity may take place. In most cases, it won’t last for more than a day or so. Call Future of Dentistry if it lasts longer.

Our teeth have many vital functions. We need them to chew our food, talk, and smile. But have you ever considered their role in holding up your face? When we lose teeth, the bone around the site of the extraction begins to shrink. This, in turn, causes our facial muscles to sink in and collapse.
Bone Metabolism
We sometimes think of bone as a solid mass, unlike the softer tissues in our body. In reality, below the seemingly rock-hard surface, bone tissue is full of small holes – kind of like a sponge. In the interior bone tissue, the bone is consistently regenerating itself. This vital process is sometimes called “bone metabolism.” In the jaw bone, the movement of the teeth stimulates this process of rebuilding. When the tooth is gone, the bone starts to shrink as blood flow is reduced.
People with missing teeth not only have an unattractive gap in their smile, but they also begin to look older because of the bone recession and eventual facial sagging. It is not simply an issue of attractiveness – it poses serious health dangers. It may become difficult to chew food, making it harder to get adequate nutrition. Mental health can also be affected when a patient with missing teeth loses confidence in themself or withdraws from social situations because they are self-conscious about their smile.
Dental Implants Can Prevent Bone Recession
Modern dentistry to the rescue! Dental implant technology provides a tooth restoration solution that maintains healthy bone metabolism while providing near-normal tooth function. For patients missing many (or all) of their teeth, it may not be possible to replace every single tooth with an implant. In many of these cases, dental implants can be used to provide an anchor for a partial denture.
What if your bone has shrunken so much that there is not enough to support an implant? You may be a candidate for bone augmentation or bone grafting. This procedure is routinely completed with success.
If you are missing teeth, don’t resign yourself to dentures. Tooth implants can provide a beautiful smile! Schedule a consultation with Doctor Gerry Casazza.

This is a great time for Boston men, women, and teens to get deep teeth cleaning and tooth whitening at Future of Dentistry throughout Greater Boston and Merrimack Valley. With a deep cleaning followed by teeth bleaching, your teeth will feel as good as they look.
If you have an important upcoming event such as a wedding, party, or formal family portrait sitting a smile makeover will give you extra confidence as you pose for photos (even close-ups).
You have probably seen the porcelain tabs in graduated shades that Wakefield dentists use to determine appropriate, yet natural-looking, shades for tooth restorations. North Andover teeth bleaching can whiten teeth beyond their natural shade. Many Wakefield cosmetic dentistry practices don’t use a conventional shade chart for whitening patients anymore.
There are now shade guides with levels significantly whiter than the guides used in the past. Tooth whitening is not a gimmick; it is safe and incredibly effective. Boston tooth bleaching patients can maintain a white shade that equals the brightness of the ‘tooth’ models you see in dental marketing.
North Andover tooth whitening following twice-yearly cleanings is usually the most affordable cosmetic dentistry procedure. Tooth bleaching in Wakefield is comparable to the cost of professional hair weaving and cutting, but when you consider the transformation – there is no comparison! Flash your gorgeous, sparkling smile, and no one will even notice your hair!

At Future of Dentistry, our smile transformation patients throughout Greater Boston and Merrimack Valley believe that life-changing cosmetic dentistry is a worthwhile investment. Indeed, for most people, the value of a healthy, attractive smile cannot be measured in dollars. We acknowledge, however, that cosmetic dentistry is not cheap.
There are Affordable Cosmetic Dental Procedures
Do you have to spend thousands of dollars to enhance your smile? Actually, no. Today’s post focuses on the most affordable cosmetic dental procedures.
Dental Bonding
In many cases, dental bonding can be used to correct a tooth that has been chipped. When Gerry Casazza repairs a tooth with dental bonding, a pliable resin material is applied to the tooth. doctor Casazza expertly molds the material to create the desired shape. The resin is then hardened using a special light. After hardening, doctor Casazza performs any needed trimming and shaping followed by a final polishing.
Dental bonding is often less expensive than porcelain veneers or dental crowns. Call us at
Be Skeptical if the Price Seems Too Good to be True
Beware of brand-new Boston area practices that advertise very low prices for dental bonding, veneers, or dental implants. The proficiency and artistic ability needed to realize minuscule tolerances should not be undertaken by a beginner. Thoroughly research any new cosmetic dentist you are considering for any cosmetic dental procedures or a complete smile transformation.
Tooth Whitening
Most Wakefield people are aware that there are several different tooth whitening procedures. Gerry Casazza recommends scheduling a tooth whitening consultation to discuss your options. Even inexpensive OTC tooth bleaching systems can be misused and result in tooth sensitivity, damage to tooth enamel, and uneven coloration.
Regarding the cost of teeth whitening: if you select an at-home system from a drugstore, you may have to buy several packages to realize even slight whitening. In-office whitening or a take-home system from our office may be more cost-effective in the long run.

Does your heart start pounding at the slightest thought of having a cavity filled? Do you get sweaty palms when you pass a dental practice?
Many individuals who have improved their smile with cosmetic dentistry or underwent extensive restoration care chose to use sedation. Though the terms ‘sleep dentistry’ and ‘oral conscious sedation’ are frequently used interchangeably, they are not identical. Let’s discuss the three main types of sedation used in dentistry.
Nitrous Oxide
The first level uses nitrous oxide, or ‘laughing gas’ as it is ordinarily called. Nitrous oxide has been used in cosmetic dental offices for many years because it is safe and effective. It goes to work at the first inhalation, relaxes the patient during the service, but wears off quickly after the mask is pulled off. If you need a little help to get through dental services but don’t want to be knocked out cold, nitrous may be the best option.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedatives don’t start working as swiftly as nitrous oxide, but they help most patients achieve a deeper level of tranquility. These medications, however, do not usually result in complete unconsciousness. Thus, oral sedatives and nitrous oxide are used in ‘conscious’ sedation. Two of the most frequent sedatives used by Wakefield dentists are diazepam and triazolam.
IV Sedation
IV sedation uses medications similar to those used in surgery and results in true ‘sleep dentistry.’ Most patients are oblivious to what is going on in their mouths. IV sedation is often used for services such as root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, and multi-procedure cosmetic dental smile makeovers. (The sedation will wear off shortly after the procedure, so you won’t need a handsome prince’s kiss to wake you up.)

Many dental patients wonder why, with all the advances in dentistry, we still send you home with a complimentary toothbrush and roll of floss. At Future of Dentistry, we believe nothing can substitute for a great oral health routine.
The Most Important Tools to Keep Your Smile Healthy
It’s true, they do seem a little old-fashioned in our high-tech world, but don’t let their simple design fool you. These tools are the best way to prevent tooth decay, plaque build-up, and gum disease for dental patients!
Brush and Floss Every Day
When done properly and consistently, brushing and flossing are a key part of everyday oral hygiene.
Brushing, which should be done at least twice a day, can be done efficiently with any type of toothbrush. There is no need to pay a bundle for a fancy electric toothbrush. Just brush your teeth in small, circular motions for 2-3 minutes making sure to reach the surfaces of every tooth.
Flossing should be done once a day and is critical for reaching the areas where a toothbrush cannot. As we eat, fragments of food get caught between our teeth. If it’s not cleaned off, it allows bacteria to thrive. The bacteria and film create plaque which hurts both teeth and gums. Flossing daily removes bits of food before they turn into plaque.
I’m Doctor Gerry Casazza, and I want to help you enjoy your dental visits and adore your smile.
Our committed staff loves sending our patients away with a new toothbrush and floss, but we also find it rewarding to see our patients gain renewed confidence with a smile makeover.
We’d love to answer any questions you have about cosmetic dentistry such as tooth whitening, veneers, dental implants, or any other dental health topic.
