What’s The Latest With Veneers?

By October 11, 2019No Comments

Wakefield Prepless VeneersOne of the exciting developments in  dentistry are prepless veneers. Though thousands of people who have received traditional veneers are happy with them, others have had second thought because they do not want to sacrifice healthy tooth structure. With prepless veneers from Future of Dentistry, that isn’t necessary.

Veneers Have Advanced

Prepless veneers are a less invasive procedure for transforming smiles. New prepless veneers at Future of Dentistry, known as Lumineers, are thin shells that adhere to the front of teeth. Unlike regular veneers, they require no tooth enamel to be removed.

Most prepless veneers are about the same thickness as a contact lens. Because the color is built into the veneers (instead of being applied after fabrication), they look like your natural teeth—only better!

Advantages to Prepless Veneers

  • Strong. As strong or stronger than tooth enamel. (They can chip, however, like if you open a package with your teeth. Don’t!)
  • Stain-free. Veneers do not stain. (You still need to brush and floss your teeth.)
  • Low maintenance. Preventative care, like regular checkups at our office, are about all they need beyond brushing and flossing.
  • Long-lasting. Since they are strong and durable, veneers can last up to ten years.

At Future of Dentistry we offer prepless Lumineers, and traditional porcelain veneers, and other cosmetic dentistry procedures. Call us to schedule an appointment today!
