What Is A Root Canal?
The term “root canal” can either refer to the physical root canal in the tooth or the procedure for cleaning it out when it becomes infected.
The physical root canal is a pathway through the center of the tooth that houses pulp, which is nerve tissue. It is through this nerve tissue that oxygen and other nutrients are transported to the tooth roots.
Root canal treatment is required when this inner pulp chamber becomes infected. The sooner we can spot the tooth infection and treat it, the better; if the pulp decays to the point of death, this can cause an abscess, a painful infection of the jawbone near the tooth root, as well as a severe toothache.
The root canal procedure is a bit infamous for being painful and traumatic. Today, thanks to modern technology and state-of-the-art sedation dentistry, root canals aren’t nearly the nightmare they were in the past. This procedure can be performed quickly with virtually no pain—while at the same time, it removes the pain of your toothache.

The Root Canal Procedure
The purpose of root canal treatment is to thoroughly cleanse the inside of a tooth that has been severely damaged by decay or infection. Tooth infection is usually the result of poor oral hygiene or trauma that has allowed bacteria to creep into the tooth’s core and infect the healthy pulp.
At Future of Dentistry, we use a computer-controlled device to locate the root canal in a given tooth and remove the diseased nerve tissue with little to no discomfort—all in a single visit.
Once the inside of the tooth is cleaned and the damaged pulp removed, we fill your tooth with a biocompatible material to seal it and prevent another tooth infection. For maximum protection, we reconstruct the tooth with a white filling that helps rebuild the tooth roots. When that’s finished, your tooth will be topped off with a beautiful porcelain crown.
Your toothache will be gone, and you can rest easy when you know your mouth is free from that tooth infection. We want to help you relieve pain through this life-changing procedure!

I'm not sure who likes going to the dentist.. but due to childhood trauma caused by a dentist I hate it.. at my last cleaning they pointed out I needed a deep cleaning.. which involve two separate appointments..all my phobias kicked in.. today was the first of two appointments.. and I told the hygienist my fears.. and that she was basically gonna decide if I come back for the second procedure or stop going to the dentist all together.. my hygienist Lori was amazing (the Best ever) . She understood what I went thru as a child and did everything she could to make me comfortable.. the procedure was painless and I can't believe I would ever say this.. but enjoyable.... My next appointment is Monday.. and I won't lose sleep the night before like I did last night... Thank you so much Lori!!!! From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with enthusiastic and very welcoming "Good Mornings." My wait time was less than 5 minutes. They still wear masks which is very comforting. Jess took me in and prepped me for my procedures. She was warm and gentle and set me at ease immediately. Dr. Denis handled my procedure. The two of them were very in-sync and they have a very calming repartee together. The entire procedure lasted for about 40 minutes. No pain. No strain. Dr. Denis uses this piece that he fits into your mouth to keep it opened. I've never had that before but it's awesome. He was thorough and before I knew it, we were done. Overall, an excellent experience at a top notch facility.

Dr Jakuj has done a great job of helping me prioritize various dental issues. Over the past year and a half, I have finally been able to to deal with some things that I had let go for too long. The whole staff is really nice and professional and my anxiety about dentist appointments has lessened.

The office was very organized and the dentists along with their assistances were all very helpful and nice. Best Dentist Ever!!!Very informative spend time educating me, his X-ray images were superior to my past dentist.he gave he possible to probable diagnose, to help make my decision, I had went there for a 3rd opinion and definitely to smartest of the three, he knew his stuff.
