What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are a cosmetic and restorative dentistry procedure that can dramatically transform your smile. This cosmetic dentistry procedure is just one more way that we are impacting lives one smile at a time.
Dental veneers are thin composites of porcelain that can be bonded to the surface of your tooth to cover up cracks, chips, or discoloration. Porcelain veneers can also be used to correct the shape or size of a tooth.

The Dental Veneers Procedure In Our Massachusetts Offices
Porcelain veneers are usually applied over the course of two or more office visits. During your first visit, we’ll examine the tooth in question and determine what changes need to be made.
Next, we’ll reshape some enamel in order to make room for the veneer, which will be constructed in a laboratory. This stage is important for ensuring the veneer lies flush with the natural line of your teeth.
When you come back for your second visit, we’ll double-check that the veneer matches the surrounding teeth as closely as possible in color, size, shape, and luminosity. Then we’ll use a resin to bond it to the surface of your tooth, and voila! You’ll have a brand new, perfectly-shaped tooth.

Lumineers
Lumineers are another cosmetic dentistry option similar to teeth veneers but with some key differences. For one, Lumineers are even thinner than dental veneers, about the same width as a contact lens. Don’t worry. They’re just as sturdy as other teeth veneers and can provide the same dramatic transformations.
Lumineers can also be applied without the removal of any enamel, so the whole process can take place in one visit to our office.
To learn more about the advantages or disadvantages of Lumineers over traditional dental veneers, contact our office! We’d be happy to discuss which cosmetic option is best for you.
