Headache Treatment

More than 20 million Americans suffer from severe migraine headaches. Studies have shown that people who suffer from migraine and tension headaches clench their teeth while sleeping on average 14 times harder compared to a control group.

Many people who clench their teeth while sleeping awaken every morning with varying degrees of headache pain accompanied by neck, temple, and jaw pain. Grinding and clenching aggravate the trigeminal nerve, a facial nerve that affects 3 areas: the eyes and forehead, upper jaw, and lower jaw. In reaction to stress, the trigeminal becomes overstimulated, causing migraines and other chronic discomforts. Our custom mouth guards can help remedy these ailments and provide pain relief.

The device we use is called NTI-tss. It is a simple neuromuscular device, custom-fitted and then worn on the front teeth while you sleep. It prevents your teeth from coming together and your jaw muscles from engaging when you bite down.

The stressed trigeminal nerve gets much-needed rest and returns to normal function. In clinical trials, the device has reduced migraine headaches in 82 percent of those using it. NTI-tss is FDA-approved to treat migraine pain and is available at Future of Dentistry.

At Future of Dentistry in Chelmsford, we want to help you and your family obtain a restful night’s sleep, and not wake up with painful symptoms. Contact Future Of Dentistry in Chelmsford, also serving Lowell and beyond, at (978-970-2089) to see what a night guard can do for you.

Had a old small front tooth cavity redone there last year (with a different dentist at the time) and it really wasn't holding up as expected. I put off doing anything about it because of my busy schedule but called up and explained the situation and I was seen immediately. Dr. khoury is was amazing. I mean took care of it (no cost) and really did an amazing job. The before and after pivs were outstanding. Very talented in his craft. The staff is always super friendly and feel like your in a respected and valued setting. They are about their business and help you understand how best to address your teeth. Really just appreciate a person who is knowledgeable about their job and goes the extra mile to make sure your comfortable during the process.
